Bodyweight training routine 1

Goals: building strength

Where: at home, in the garden, in the park

Equipment required: pull up bar or sturdy tree branch, parallel bars

Warm up: 5 mins (eg. 20 star jumps, 20 squats, 20 lunges, 20 burpees)

The Workout:

This workout is modified from a bodyweight routine on the reddit bodyweight fitness site – a superb resource for this sort of training.

1st exercise pair: (do 3 sets)

Press-ups progression – 8 reps

Rest 90 seconds

Pull-ups progression – 8 reps

Rest 90 seconds

2nd exercise pair: (do 3 sets)

Squat progression – 8 reps

Rest 90 seconds

Hanging leg raise progression – 5-8 reps

Rest 90 seconds

3rd exercise pair: (do 3 sets)

Dips progression – 8 reps

Rest 90 seconds

Row progression – 8 reps

Rest 90 seconds
