Dr. Tim Smith is an anaesthetic doctor, currently working as a Consultant in the NHS (UK). In addition to his specialist medical qualifications, he has a Masters in Environmental Management (MEM), which has led to a special  interest in the links between the natural environment and human health, health promotion through nature based activities and preventive medicine.

He is also an outdoor enthusiast, trail runner, hillwalker and climber. He is a qualified Mountain Leader (SML) and possesses a Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM).
